Privacy Policy
Effective date: 14 June 2026
App: dealt (life maintenance tracker)
Provider: Grzegorz Nehring (Nehring Software), Germany (“we”, “us”)
Contact: support@dealt.life
In short: your tasks, notes, photos and profile stay on your device and in your own iCloud account. We do not run servers that collect your personal data, we do not use advertising or third-party tracking, and we never sell your data. You can erase everything at any time from Settings → Data & Export → Delete All Data.
This policy explains what data dealt handles, where it lives, and your choices. It is not legal advice.
1. The short version of how dealt stores data
dealt has no backend server of ours. The content you create is stored:
- On your device, and
- In your private iCloud account, via Apple’s iCloud / CloudKit, so it can sync to your other Apple devices and be restored if you reinstall.
Because this data is in your iCloud, it is governed by Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy practices. We cannot see the contents of your private iCloud data.
2. Information you create in the app
You may create and store:
- Tasks (names, schedules, intervals, notes, reminder settings)
- Completion history (dates, optional notes, optional photos)
- Profile (your chosen name, life-situation preferences such as home/vehicle/pets/kids, optional profile photo)
- Custom categories and category preferences
- Comments on tasks
This is stored on your device and in your private iCloud as described above.
3. Shared Groups
If you create or join a shared group (a household/family/roommate feature), the following is shared with the other members of that group, through Apple’s CloudKit sharing:
- The group’s shared tasks, completions, comments and messages
- Your display name for that group and your member color
- Your optional profile photo (a small thumbnail), if you set one
This sharing happens member-to-member through Apple’s iCloud infrastructure, not through any server operated by us. Anyone in a group can see the shared content of that group.
Please understand how this sharing works before you invite people or join:
- Inviting someone shares the group with them. When you invite a person to a group you create or belong to, they gain access to the group’s shared content, including its past history (existing tasks, completions, comments, and messages), not only content added after they join.
- Joining a group reveals your identity to existing members. Your chosen display name for that group, your member color, and (if you set one) your profile-photo thumbnail become visible to the other members.
- What you contribute stays with the group. Content you add to a group is visible to all of its members and remains visible to them even if you later leave. Leaving removes the group from your view, but does not delete the copy other members already hold. Only the group’s admin deleting the group removes it for everyone.
- Only share with people you trust. Once another member can see shared content, we cannot control what they do with it (for example, taking a screenshot). Group admins can remove members and delete groups, and you can report or block another member from within the app.
You are responsible for the content you choose to add to a shared group and for who you invite into it.
4. Purchases
Premium features are sold as in-app purchases handled entirely by Apple (StoreKit / the App Store). We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple provides us only with the information needed to verify your subscription status. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings.
5. Notifications
- Local notifications (task reminders) are scheduled on your device.
- Push notifications are used to keep shared groups in sync across devices. To enable this, your device registers a notification token with Apple’s push service (APNs). We do not use this for marketing.
6. What we do NOT collect
- No advertising and no third-party tracking SDKs. dealt contains no ad networks and no third-party analytics trackers.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers or advertisers.
- No account/password is required. dealt uses your Apple/iCloud sign-in.
- Apple may provide us with aggregate, anonymized App Store statistics and crash reports (standard App Store analytics); these do not identify you.
7. Health-related content
Some task templates relate to health, vehicle, or home upkeep (for example, “book a dental checkup”). dealt provides general reminders based on publicly available guidance and is not a medical, automotive, or professional service. Your task data is not used to build health profiles and is not shared with insurers, employers, or advertisers. Always consult a qualified professional for personal decisions.
8. Children
dealt is intended for a general adult audience (people managing a household). It is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Task categories about children are for the parent/guardian’s own organization.
9. Your rights and choices
- Delete everything: Settings → Data & Export → Delete All Data erases your tasks, history, photos, profile and categories from the device and from your iCloud, and removes you from / deletes your groups.
- Export your data: you can export your data (CSV/JSON and a full backup) from Settings.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/EEA under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data. Because your data is stored in your own device and iCloud, you can exercise most of these directly in the app; for anything else, contact us at support@dealt.life.
10. Data retention
We don’t hold your content on our servers, so retention is controlled by you: data persists in your device/iCloud until you delete it in the app or remove the app and its iCloud data. Shared-group content persists for other members until the group is deleted by its admin.
11. International users
Your data is stored by Apple’s iCloud in the region Apple assigns to your account. By using dealt you understand your data is handled per Apple’s iCloud infrastructure and this policy.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
